A super secret Seed Club page

Hello, Seed Club members!

Welcome to Groovy Root's first Earth Day celebration.

Groovy Root began with a simple love of growing things. It has since sprouted into this space, a growing Seed Club, and a shared commitment to learning how to grow our own gardens at home.

This page is just for you.

Thank you for being a part of all this with me. As always, I am rooting for you!

For the first time, Groovy Root is introducing an heirloom seed to the Seed Club. And what better time than during the month of Earth Day!

As you read on your info card, the Alaska pea dates all the way back to the 1880s. Over 140 years of gardeners growing, saving, and passing these seeds from hand to hand. Now they are in yours.

So what exactly is the seed?
With peas it's simple: the seed IS the pea itself. The seeds you are planting are the peas you'll eventually harvest from their pod, eat, and hopefully save again to keep the heirloom tradition going. Pretty cool right?

FULL ALASKA PEA CARE GUIDE

As mentioned on your info card, saving your Alaska pea seeds is as simple as letting a few pods dry completely on the vine until they turn yellow and papery, then pulling them off and removing the dried peas inside.

The key is what comes next: storage.

To keep your seeds in good shape for next season, store them somewhere cool, dark, and dry. A small jar, a paper envelope, or even a little handmade seed packet works perfectly.

FREE SEED PACKETS

Print, cut, and design your own seed packets from home! Perfect for those heirloom seeds that you can save and plant next season.

Seed Club members get FREE first dibs on this download. After Earth Day, this item will be $2.

IT'S TIME TO VOTE!

Every Seed Club member gets a say.
Vote for a bonus gift and we'll make sure the winner shows up in your July envelope.

Groovy Root will be donating seed packets to a local children's garden to aid in their upcoming "seed exchange" initiative. I am so excited to be a part of this project and to give back to my community.

I encourage you to find small ways you can give back to the world around you this month. Even if that means planting a couple heirloom peas from the 1800s. Good luck and have fun!
